Java Backend Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building high-performance RESTful services, working with databases, and deploying cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, and REST APIs
  • Build and optimize microservices with high scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Work with SQL/NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
  • Integrate backend APIs with frontend applications and third-party services
  • Deploy and maintain applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, or GitHub Actions
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests (JUnit, Mockito)
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful API development
  • Solid understanding of database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or messaging systems
  • Knowledge of GraphQL, caching strategies (Redis), or event-driven architectures
  • Experience with API Gateway, OAuth2, JWT, and security best practices
  • Exposure to TDD/BDD and automated testing frameworks
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript for light frontend integration
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
